FOR THE WRECKORD
Privacy & your choices
Updated October 29, 2026
The short version.
You can browse and listen without enabling our optional site measurement. We do not run advertising trackers or collect email addresses through a signup form.
Optional anonymous counts.
If you choose “Allow counts,” we count page visits, song choices, player openings, playback starts and completions, and clicks to our music, social and email links. The stored record contains a UTC date, one of our page names, the type of action, a broad source category such as YouTube or TikTok, a destination category, and a total count. It does not contain your name, email, IP address, full referring URL or a visitor identifier.
Source categories come from recognized campaign labels or the referring site. Your browser stores the category for this tab session, and remembers your measurement choice locally. Records older than 90 days are removed when the next event is processed. Counts are approximate, cover consenting visits only, and do not prove a Spotify stream or a YouTube view.
Choosing “No thanks” stops further optional measurement and clears the saved source category. We also respect browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Previous anonymous totals cannot be linked back to you.
YouTube videos & external links.
No YouTube player is loaded until you select play. Playback then connects to YouTube using its privacy-enhanced embed domain and Player API. YouTube controls playback, captions, cookies and its own data handling. Spotify and social links open those services, which have their own policies.

Hosting & contact.
Our hosting and delivery providers process connection information needed to serve and protect the site. Their operational processing is separate from the optional aggregate counts described above.
If you email ftwreckord@gmail.com, we receive the address and content you send so we can reply. A contact email does not subscribe you to a mailing list. Contact us there with privacy or deletion requests.
